If you build us a snowman themed around Cubby's, tag us on Instagram @cubbys with a photo of your creation, and show up on February 3, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. you will have a chance to win a $100 gift card. Not only that, we'll give any participants an order of free rosemary fries the night of the 3rd! Read below for all the contest details. Get building! 

Meet Damian

Damian is our head chef, the man who runs our proud little kitchen. He really is such a stellar guy. If you ever see him around you should give him an appreciative nod or some kind of thumbs up--maybe even a "hey man" if you're feeling kinda wild. I personally am so happy to be featuring him this week because he has a sweet heart and mad talent with food. Hopefully this will give you a glance at the staff we're so pumped to have working at Cubby's. 

 

Damian, Age 44 (but don't tell too many people he asks), from Argentina 

Q: What is your favorite thing to cook for yourself?

A: Pastries and pasta

Q: What is your favorite Cubby's menu item?

A: I love the Mr. Beef and the Blue Cheese Buffalo Fries

Damian probably only loves 3 things in this world. His family, food, and this car. It's one of the very first things I ever learned about him. 

Q: How did you learn to cook?

A: I started cooking when I was 10 years old. My mom would teach me how to cook something we make in my country. After that the kitchen and cooking took all of my attention and it turned into a passion. "It's all the ingredients in my blood!!!" 

Q: What other hobbies do you have?

A: I love to dance, play soccer, and tennis

Q: Do you know who Nicki Minaj is?

A: I don't know who Kiki is. I probably need to meet her or him!!

Q: What do you do on your day off?

A: I spend time with my daughters and friends, doing things like dancing, movies, or BBQ

(a few minutes later..."Wait! What is Kiki Minaj?!?")

Ugly Sweater Party

Our first ugly sweater party/contest happened this year! Check out photos from the evening.

 Our first place winner was McKay Ballstaedt (2nd from the left). He earned a $100 gift card!

Ugly Sweater Contest

We're hosting our very first ugly sweater party and contest! The winner gets a $100 gift card, so start knitting now. The rules are as follows:

-The deadline to submit your photo is December 16th 

-You need to come to the store wearing your heinous sweater on December 17th, the winner will be announced at 8:00 p.m.

-To Submit: take a picture wearing your ugly sweater and tag @cubbys on instagram. Also make sure to comment and use the hashtag #cubbyssweaterparty OR like and post your photo on our Facebook page

Also! The night of the 17th, we will be serving hot wassail and offering free rosemary pepper fries with purchase of an entree to anyone who comes with their sweater on from 7-9 p.m.

We are stoked to see what you come up with!

The Big Dog

Introducing THE BIG DOG. 

You asked for it! We are now serving two more ounces of our Tri Tip Sandwich in this 9 inch bun, topped with your choice of BBQ sauce. Things just got real. 

Halloween

We just wanted to wish you a Happy Halloween from us. This is always a fun time of year and we loved seeing all your costumes over the past week. Hope you ate more candy than you're willing to admit!

Cubby's Quinoa of the Week

If you haven't heard yet, we started serving quinoa as a side dish. Whoop! Every week there is a new and amazing mix made by our head chef, so come try it out. Oh, and ignore that little guy. He just loves our quinoa so much that he can't keep his stinkin' paws off the stuff. We've contacted local authorities about it already, you can put your phone down.
